Ebay seller, Mt Woodson Sales, has listed an original 1946 cover from Claude Lyons Limited. The letter was sent from the business’ first address at 76 Old Hall Street, Liverpool.
Claude Lyons, was in contact with many radio enthusiasts in the USA at the time, as the Americans were seen to be more advanced in new science.
The letter cover is likely to be from one of these correspondences, addressed to Messrs. Radio Corporation of America.
Lewis Lyons managed the original sales office at the time after Claude Lyons took charge of a new London office that they opened in 1930.
Claude first set up an electronics business at the Liverpool address in 1918. The firm later became Claude Lyons Ltd in 1927, by which time Lewis was also management and a shareholder.

Providing 50.7% of Great Britain’s electricity on the day, the 100mph winds exceeded previous records from August 21st this year.
