Description

Non-contact RPM: Measures rotational speed by attaching a piece of reflective tape (included) to the surface and aiming the LED red dot from a safe distance (approximately 50-600mm).

Contact RPM: The unit comes with three contact pads, which attach to the spindle reader and physically touch the rotating item to read its RPM.

Surface Speed: Includes a rubber contact wheel for measuring surface speed.

Example Uses: Ideal for gauging the rotation speed of lathes, milling machines, motors, engines, machine parts, spindle RPM, etc.

Contents: RPM handheld unit, three contact pads, one contact wheel, approximately 600mm of reflective tape.

Surface Feed Speed: Meter/min.

Power Requirement: Requires 1 x PP3 9V battery (not included).

Range for Photoelectric Rotation Speed: 2.5 - 99,999 RPM.

Range for Contact Rotation Speed: 1.0 - 19,999 RPM.

Range for Contact Line Speed: 1.0 - 19.99 m/min.

Please Note: The RPM sensor operates using an optical pickup. To use the optical pickup function, the plastic end cover with the spindle protruding needs to be removed by releasing the two screws securing it. This exposes the optical transmitter and receiver, which can be pointed at the rotating item you wish to check the RPM of. A piece of reflective silver tape, supplied, must be attached to the rotating component so the sensor can detect a change as the item rotates.
